No, I am not paneled or “in network” with any insurance companies. This way, I can tailor the sessions to meet YOUR needs and not rely on direction from an insurance company. This puts you and me in control of your treatment, and your information remains confidential and does not need to be released to a third-party insurance provider. Your privacy and quality of treatment matter to me and I don’t want a company dictating how or for how long we work together. 

As an out-of-network provider I am able to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance to possibly receive reimbursement from your insurance company for a percentage of my session rate. 

• For people with out-of-network coverage. Insurance plans may reimburse a percentage of the session fees depending on the plan’s out-of-network mental health benefits.

• I’ve partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting   reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.

o Mentaya is perfect if you:

 Have out-of-network benefits

 Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

 Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

 Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!

o Here's how it works:

    2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

    3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

    4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

o Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.

o It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

o This service is OPTIONAL, Empowering Hearts Therapy do not benefit in any way from your participation! 

• If you plan to use insurance to cover the cost of treatment, be sure you have met any prior authorization or referral requirements. I can provide you with a monthly statement and/or receipt of payment at your request for your insurance company.  I cannot guarantee you will receive reimbursement.  You may want to check with your insurance carrier before you begin treatment if this option is something you would like to consider

To find out what your insurance may cover, contact your insurance and ask if you have out-of-network mental health coverage. You may also want to mention the type of license that I have to ensure services with my type of credential are covered; I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

You may also want to ask:

• What your deductible is
• What your co-insurance payment will be
• If you need authorization for your visits
• Details on how to submit a superbill
• How many visits you get per year

*Note: For confidentiality purposes, I do not directly work with your insurance company so any reimbursement/submission of superbills/communication about benefits is your responsibility, and the full session payment is expected at the time of service.

During your first visit, you will meet with one of our wellness practitioners to discuss your health concerns and goals. They will then recommend a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your wellness goals.

Please note that appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $95.00 late cancellation fee. Appointments that are no call/no show will be charged the entire private pay appointment fee.
